Choreography

Jamie has always had a passion for dance and creating. She began choreographing dance routines from a young age and continued to follow this love of movement into the world of theatre choreography.

During her time in New York City, Jamie had the opportunity to work with Gina Rattan as assistant director/assistant choreographer for the American Girl Live National Tour, and Sara Brians as the Assistant Choreographer on Spring Awakening at The Argyle Theatre. She has since continued to pursue choreography in Canada working alongside Lisa Stevens as well as Robin Calvert as Associate Choreographer on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at The Grand Theatre. Jamie is excited to continue to develop her choreographic knowledge as she moves forwards in her career.

Dance Instruction

Before beginning her career as a performer, Jamie studied and competed in Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Lyrical, Contemporary, Modern, Theatre Jazz, Acrobatics, and Hip Hop.

Jamie was a member of both Bringing Tap Back dance company, and OIP Dance Centre company. She studied RAD ballet, completing her Advance 2 examination. Jamie competed with Team Canada in the IDO World Tap Dance Championships where she earned a bronze and silver medal.

Jamie has provided dance instruction and been invited as a guest workshop instructor to a multitude of studios around Southwestern Ontario and beyond. She is always excited to share her dance knowledge with new students and to make connections with new studios.

Adjudication

Jamie grew up attending Dance Competitions and has a strong appreciation for how valuable they are for young aspiring dancers. She is committed to helping create an environment that allows dancers to have the opportunity to perform on stage under pressure in a safe, kind, educational, and fun atmosphere by providing adjudication that both celebrates students successes and offers feedback to help further their growth as a dancer, performer, and human.

Jamie has provided dance adjudication across Southwestern Ontario and is eager to continue contributing to dance education in the years to come.
